seriously, if TORRES was 50M and CARROL 35, Fabregas 40????? for all i care Barcelona don’t own him, if they can’t afford him, then just back off and let Fab be.
For those advocating for Fabregas to leave, and Nasri to stay, I would seriously think you know nothing about football, Nasri has had half a season with arsenal at his best, in how many years???? since 2008, Fabregas last year amid all the hype and bad talk that he was not playing as if his heart was arsenal, he had the best ratio per minute played than any mid fielder in EUROPE, yes including Xavi and Inesta, Fabregas is special and Barcelona know so, the dynamics of transfers have changed, if this was 4 or 5 years ago then 40M will be alright, but in this time and age, please who are we kidding.
Real Madrid please offer 40M + Granero and take Fabregas, and lets see just how special this 24 year old is

I actually agree with “J” and sorry Linda I have to disagree. I don’t think Fab’s heart was not with Arsenal last season Ithink he was frustrated that he was injured again and that it meant he had to sit out for a lot of the season. Barcelona need to sit down, they can’t think that they can just try to unsettle players by parading around in the press when the truth of the matter is last season they had to take out an emergency loan to ensure that they could even pay their players wages. People in glass houses should not throw stones and Barcelnoa need to be careful that their pride does not get the better of them.

I don’t think Fabregas’ valuation will go down next year and even if it does he is still one of the best midfielders in the world and I would rather have him in the team for anohter year than sell him off now for £35 mill, which is NOT a good deal. Please Wnger do not let Nasri or Fab go, you said it yourself at the start of the season, we need to build on what we have not start again from the beginning.

barcelnoa if you are goign to pay the price then get involved if not then sit down and stop being so arrogantm, you don’t own everything.

No WAYYYYYY … these are articles to just make news and roumours so that Arsenal fans get agree with fees. If Ronaldo costs 80 million KAKA cost 65 and Benzema 35 million then Fabregas is 45 million + incentive as per success. If barca are such desperate to sign him then they must pay if not eager to sign then they must stop creating pressure on Arsenal by making news and players giving statements in media about fabregas to go at barcelona just like Xavi, Busquets, iniesta etc are stating.
Most important thing is, Fabregas has 3 more years on contract.
if he stays at Arsenal this year then NEXT year Barcelona will not even think of signing him and he becomes imminent member for full career at arsenal which could lead to Arsenal’s favour.
Wenger has invested so many years in Fabregas not to sell to team who try to win trophies by signing player for huge money like barca, Man City, Real and chelsea etc.

40 million and add another 10 mil and Arsenal could buy a top notch keeper and a centreback for the next decade.

They are not a bad team and had they had a stud like Subotic and a world class keeper this year, it would have saved a couple of games at least.

The offence will keep rolling if Nasri replaced Cesc in the middle. Offence and free flowing football will not go away because Fabregas is gone (as shown during his many absences).

Controlling the tempo and ball wont be a problem this year but Wenger HAS to fix those two big hole; GK and centreback.
No more U21 goalies or internationals from third world countries: Stekelenburg, Neuer, Lloris or someone of that caliber.
Same for CB: not a career 2nd leaguer or 18yr old project..

To get those two players of that level, you have to pay for it. The Fabregas money will go a long way.

I still dont see why Barca would want to pay for him now, he is a luxury on that team, not a necessity.
No way does he get in a midfield made of Xavi, Messi, Iniesta and Busquets unless there are injuries or domestic cups.
Xavi doenst look like he is anywhere close to retiring
so giving up more than 40mil for a guy who will be holding the door for Xavi and Iniesta makes little sense for Barca. Theyre not in a rush and can wait this out one more summer if needed.

Furthermore, considering how injury prone he’s become, I’d say it’s a great deal. Take it and run.

… Letting Nasri go to City/Utd, now that’s just stupid. Arsene’s playing a dangerous game there.

£35,000 is a good deal for Fab. I’ll miss him and if we had a manager with an insight into what is needed to improve the team we could use the money to improve the team. So far i’ve seen no evidence we will improve and its a scandal given the sound state of our finances.
