people have selective memory, maybe Argentina didnt go far in WC2010 but all goals were started at Messi´s boot, and as I reackoned football critics even admit that he’s far the most delightful player to watch at that tournament.. and moreover, Olimpic medal might be nothing for some people but how about FIFA U-21 WORLD CUP, at least Messi had those honours, how about the MAN who has done wonders in Portugal National team? Does he have any that proves his wonders in his National Team?

Olympic gold medal is not recognized by fifa or any football governing body. Be quiet honest too because no one views an olympic gold medal as anything. The United kingdom never even put together a team to compete in it. Also European teams do poorly in the Olympics including Ronaldos portugal because they play in the Euro which is a week before the Olympics start. After playing 11 months for club then playing in the euro you expect Ronaldo to be fit to play in the olympics? He played in the athens olympics but was so fatigued after playing in the whole euro from start to the final he was called out and Portugal failed to go to the next round. If he somehow won the Olympic gold medal he would have done so with no break playing a consecutive 12 months straight. Messi had it easy because before the Olympics he had a whole months of rest. On the senior level of national teams Ronaldo has accomplished more than Messi.

Messi proved himself that he is no where to be compared to Pele and maradona. A good player must be able to play any time any where. Olympic medal can not be compared to world cup or copa america.

Messi’s pass was fantastic, but lavezzi missed it, if that had went in, messi’s pass would surely have been a highlight of the tournament.

The problem is, in Argentina there are not enough play makers, they have plenty of strikers, but no play makers, there is no one to provide the ball to messi inside the box.

Argentina not only lacks creative midfielders but they also lack defensively.

Still internationally, Messi is still more successful than C.Ronaldo, atleast Messi won the Olympic Gold medal, atleast he won something with his national team

Messi is still young, even if the Copa America ends in disappointment, he will still have plenty of chances to win medals with Argentina.

This is year’s player of the year is Lionel Messi, Messi will be three times consecutive world player of the year, three time consecutive top goal scorer in Championsleague, just loo k at his trophy cabinet at the age of 23, surely there is a illustrious career awaiting him.

Ronaldo actually has though. Got the team to the finals of Euro 04 and 4th place at wc 06. In 08 and 10 lost to the Germans and Spanish so can’t blame him for loosing to a better team.

Instead of playing bad, Messi, was outstanding blocked by Colombian midfield and Defense players!!!!!!

Argentina’s most clear option (Lavezzi) was thanks to a Messi’s pass.
