Jokers hard at work on Liverpool star's nightclub arrest
Followers of the news will know that the forces of law and order have “nicked brawling England footie star Stewart Downing and his ex-girlfriend” after a spot of bother at a Middlesbrough nightclub.
(Apropos very little, a former neighbour of The Spoiler’s who hailed from the north-east and liked to dress in the punk style was once told by his father when returning for Christmas one year, “I’d like to take you to the social club, son, but I don’t know who’d hit you first.”)
No sooner had Downing disgraced himself instead of showcasing the moves on the dancefloor that have propelled him to stardom, however, the comedians of Twitter were hard at work, not least the one who calls himself “Bill_Roache”, with this effort:
Ouch! Stewart Downing, consider yourself dissed by someone pretending to be a soap actor approaching his hundredth birthday.
