Tevez’s agent labels PSG coach Ancelotti the best in the world
Just a coincidence that he is the only one 100% keen on his client?
To be labelled the best in the business from a field featuring Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho, Sir Alex Ferguson and Paul Lambert is quite the honour, and Carlo Ancelotti must be even more delighted at being awarded the title by someone so revered.
Kia Joorabchian, giving the world the update it vociferously demanded to a transfer saga threatening to make Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona look trailer-length by comparison, listed Carletto’s arrival at PSG as the only reason why Carlos Tevez might consider a move there.
He said: “If it were not for Ancelotti being PSG coach, the possibility of Tevez negotiating with the club would not have started. Carlo is not just one of the best but the best coach in the world.”
Whiteboard would certainly ponder putting the amiable Italian in his top ten, and would afford him an even loftier billing in his list of man managers.
However, handing him top spot above the guy who won every major prize in club management in the space of about 18 months – besides the standard three points on a freezing cold night at Stoke – is enough to make us request a peek at Kia’s calculations.
But the main puzzle posed by Joorabchian’s praise, as to our shame we’ve become ridiculously cynical about all things Tevez, is what the ulterior motive may be.
Is it all a premeditated attempt to justify Tevez bailing out following Ancelotti’s inevitable sacking for failing to deliver the Champions League/collect 100 Ligue 1 points/get a dozen goals out of Fernando Torres [delete as applicable] at the Parc des Princes next season?
Or is it a simpler effort to ease the embarrassment about Silvio Berlusconi going the extra mile to keep Tevez away from AC Milan after both player and agent had stated their desire to do a deal?
Despite Tevez still dreaming of Meeee-lan, their vice-president Adriano Galliani teasing him by claiming that his wish could yet be granted and Inter lurking in the background hoping to sign him without doing any work, PSG are 6/4 with SkyBet to get their man.
