LA Galaxy star gets struck off Al Gore’s Christmas card list
While you and I make a concerted effort to recycle, switch off lights and use public transport, David Beckham is leaving the biggest carbon footprint in history.
Our friends at Kickette have discovered the detrimental effects of Mr B’s jetset lifestyle, and it’s enough to make hippies who paint rainbows on buses weep.
Firstly, he owns a fleet of fifteen cars, including Escalades, Range Rovers and high end sports cars. And oddly for an LA celeb, he does not own a hybrid.
His main contribution to slaughtering Mother Earth, however, is his frequent transatlantic flights. In 2007 alone, he flew over 250,000 miles, which is the equivalent of a one-way trip to the dark side of the moon, and a CO2 output of 163 tons. To put that in perspective, the average Brit’s CO2 output is 9.4 tons.
So when we’re all using sandpaper for toilet roll and most of the southwest is underwater, you’ll know who to blame.

this is a lame article. cant find anything else to write about? how many cars does jay leno own? john travolta owns his own jet and i dont see anyone talking about how much co2 he burns up. there are plenty of people that are far worse than him.
