Tuesday, 8am: Our eagle-eyed spotter saw Alan Shearer and his wife in a VIP lounge at Gatwick Airport this morning. He had just arrived from Barbados (where he has been holidaying with chums including Rob Lee) and was preparing to board the 8.30am flight to Newcastle.

Unsurprisingly, he looked ‘very tanned’.
