According to the man who ruined England
Steve McClaren has been relatively quiet since he cancelled summer 2008, but the orange one has piped up this week in order to criticise David Beckham’s move to the States:
“David has gone from Real Madrid to a club in America where the sport is still at its beginnings.
“The MLS is developing but it’s not of the standard required for international football. I know David will keep himself fit, but it’s going to be very difficult for him to continue playing for England.”
In defence of the MLS, The Offside astutely points out that McClaren described the American league as “lower Premiership, upper Championship,” last summer, when trying to extend an olive branch to the captain he dropped. Now he doesn’t have a job to cling on to, he seems to have changed his mind.
Seriously, does anyone actually care what this man is saying anyway?
