West Ham fan has real chance of running the United States

West Ham supporters have not traditionally played much of a role in American politics, but at last their hour is nigh. Going into the gigantic round of primaries known as Super Tuesday today, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, and apparently, Upton Park, has a real chance of winning the Democratic nomination to stand for President.

Senator Obama’s sister is married to an English West Ham follower, and the senator himself has been a Hammers fan since visiting England five years ago. According to an aide “He watches their games on the TV whenever he can.”

A spokesman for the club said “We send hundreds of West Ham fans to Florida each summer, now we’d like the Senator to come here.”

Senator Obama is currently a 2/1 third favourite to become the next President of the USA. His first objective upon taking office is believed to be the obliteration of Millwall.
