It’s all in the name of hindering their country
Men in South Korea must serve up to 24 months in the military, unless a medical exemption intervenes. Several players in the national K-League decided they much preferred kicking a ball about to getting maimed by a North Korean foot soldier, so they took advantage of the medical loophole and proceeded to dislocate their shoulders. To execute this cunning rouse, some swung their arms while holding heavy weights, while others simply had a colleague stamp on them.
As a result of this deliberate mutilation, 92 players, including 15 professionals, are being indicted by the state for wussing out of their compulsory duties. They now face community service, the military or prison, and of course the crushing realisation that it’s actually quite difficult to play football with a dislocated shoulder.
Good luck fending off Kim Jong-il’s 1.2million henchmen with proud men like this, South Korea.
