Celebrate a perfect season that never happened

Crystal Ball

The sports merchandise industry was so confident that the New England Patriots would stride through last weekend’s Super Bowl that they started churning out all sorts of junk commemorating the 19-0 perfect season. But the perfect season didn’t quite happen. And now there’s a job lot of crystal footballs that are ready to be snapped up by New England fans in denial - one satisfied customer has already deemed it worthy of five stars!

This piece of expensive tat is almost as presumptuous as Liverpool’s 2007 Champions League victory bus:

    Reminds me of the my “Lawrie Sanchez leads Fulham into Europe” commemorative tie clip and pen set. Seemed like a good idea at the time
