Fan base still in tact in spite of hideous new tattoo

If I learnt anything at school, it was the following mathematical equation: socks + sandals = beard. It wasn’t on the curriculum, but through a mixture of The Fast Show and a stuffy history teacher, it has always stayed with me.

I was reminded of this adolescent knowledge by the picture above, which features David Beckham on tour in Hawaii rocking the flip flops/ socks combo. In the gospel according to Kickette, this is a major fashion faux pas, regardless of the length of his beard. But despite his ambivalence towards trendiness, Becks has been voted number one pin up in a poll by gay magazine AXM:

In other Beckham news, the Galaxy are currently engaged in the Pan-Pacific Championships in Hawaii. On his official blog, Mr B says: “we’re definitely going to enjoy our time here.” Presumably, he wrote that before his side lost to J-Leaguers Gamba Osaka.
