Newcastle fans want Venables, McLaren and Ramos for manager’s job

The latest opinions from the message boards

Newcastle Fans

No one can accuse Newcastle owner Mike Ashley of not listening to the fans. Indeed, his choice of Kevin Keegan as manager was a rare instance of management listening to customer. If the powers that be at the Toon have been watching the message boards at the Newcastle Chronicle recently,  however, they might not be so eager to take the latest list of suggestions into the next board meeting.

Firstly, it looks like the fans have already started to realise that Keegan isn’t the Messiah they’d hoped. One Chronicle blogger writes:

“He did nothing @ Man City, and the England job showed him up for his lack of technical nous.”

So who’s being suggested as the successor to King Kev? It’s everybody’s favourite crook Terry Venables:

“How about NUFC getting in Terry Venables to help KK until the end of the season? I know people will say this will undermine KK etc etc and will say how much they hate Venables but clearly KK needs help from somewhere.”

Does a moderately unsuccessful England coach sound a little too far fetched? Well, how about a completely unsuccessful England coach:

“Like I have said before Steve McLaren Is the right man for our Club and he is available.”

Plenty of posters laugh off Keegan’s suggestion that Messi and Ronaldinho are transfer targets, but the idea of bringing in a top manager who is just beginning his legacy at a more successful club seems perfectly reasonable:

“We can attract world class players by gettin a world class manager in Ramos and offering him tons of money.Thats the only brutal way.”

Do you have any more suitable candidates for the gaffer’s role? Alf Ramsay, perhaps? Sir Alex Ferguson? WG Grace? Leave your thoughts below.

This is a completely fabricated article. I read the Chronicle website everyday and have never read the comments posted above.

Are you a mackem in disguise?

Kevin? Kevin Keegan is that you? Worried about the job?

I too read EVERY SINGLE WORD of the Chronicle website two or three times every single day of the week (even the “about us” bit), but my story is different - I’ve seen all of these comments. Two or three times. My favourite is the one about McLaren - what an IDIOT!

Another swipe at the Geordie public. Why don’t you get the opinion of proper Toon fans instead of looking at text messages from little kids who know nothing about football. I go on a NUFC forum and i would say nearly all of the posters are 100% behind Keegan. I’ve never heard Ramos once being mentioned. As for Steve McClaren and Venables. Go f*ck yourself tithead!

Who writes this cack? I’ve not heard one toon fan suggesting any of the names mentioned above- in fact I haven’t met one who isn’t prepared to give Keegan time. Who are your sources for this journalistic masterpiece? Is it the same group 13 year old knackers who hang around the ground every time a news story breaks, off their faces on blue pop shouting for the new messiah or baying for the blood of the present one. Is this the great geordie public you southern puffs claim to know so well? Considering we are such a small club, you don’t half fill your “newspapers” with made-up pap about us lot up north. Write about your own clubs you drivel spouting arse biscuits.

“made-up pap about us lot up north.’

But it’s not made up is it. It is actual postings from The Chronicle’s website

What a load of c**p. You take quotes from Muppets on a msg board that is poor anyway and make up this trash?

  • 10 Ian McGrother // Feb 27, 2008 at 6:20 pm

You Southern w*nkers want to take stock of your own team’s performances, instead of writing all this shit about Keegan. Southern tossp*ts should be concerned about their team (Manchester United) trying to catch Arsenal. Newcastle United are obviously a big team, otherwise, why should you Southern tw*ts be so concerned in how we are doing all the time. Stupid Southern muppets

It’s obvious now that the referee at the Liverpool v Boro game last Saturday was on the take when he sent off the Boro player. In the real world, the Liverpool player who raised his hands first should have at least been red-carded. Don’t the rules state that if hands are raised, it is an automatic sending off. Liverpool, Man Utd are by far the biggest cheats, and dirtiest teams in the league. I hope they win f*ck all. Come on Chelsea and Arsenal. You two are by far the most exciting teams in the league. Ferguson and Benites are not gay, but the men they slept with last night, are gay.

  • 12 RedbyDawn // Feb 27, 2008 at 11:07 pm

You can’t even name the Boro player in question, you think Liverpool are one of the dirtiest cheat teams in the league and you end your pathetically retarded diatribe suggesting that Chelsea play fantastic, free-flowing football and aren’t a team chock full of the most dispicable money grabbing, spit-roasting lowlife professional footballer scumbags in existance.

You sir are a cunt of the highest order and clearly don’t know jack shit about footie.

LOL, this is great innit! what with cunts, dicks, titheads and so on, this place could well soon be a brothel, if it aint already! Half the muppets who post on the nufc forum of the chronicle are sunderland and middlesboro fans takin the piss! hence the venables and mclaren links! just cause they good enough for the boro, don’t make them good enough for anyone else, thats why tez is out of work, and mclaren is now willing to manage a lower league side! Add numpties like yourself who work for newspapers and media to the list of sunderland and boro fans posting on the nufc chronicle forum as well, as it’s a way of having something to “quote” when writing the complete bollock article you have at the top of this!

  • 14 funlovingexpress // Feb 29, 2008 at 8:09 pm

The comments were made by a boro WuM and a Man Utd WUM as you well know. If you had quoted the replies to it you might have seen your mistake. But then again that dosen’t make sensationalist headlines, does it?
