Arsenal miss a key opportunity in the fight for the domestic prize

Arsene Wenger

Following Middlesbrough’s decision to actually play some football at the weekend, the Gunners will be kicking themselves for not taking three points and closing the gap in the title race.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool rested key players, and by full time fans inside the Emirates were grumbling that the title race was all over. I’m not saying it was a bad idea to save it all up for tomorrow night’s clash at Anfield, but is it right to chase the Champions League dream at the expense of Premier League glory?

As a fan, would you rather see your side win the European Cup or the domestic league? Currently, it seems that many Arsenal fans would prefer the latter.

Have your say below, please.

Your leauge dreams died the moment United overtook you. They were obliterated when United beat us (Liverpool).

How long do you reckon Arsene will go without a trophy before the Gooner faithful will be calling for his loaf?

Wenger gave up on the league when he leftout clichy for poor tarore who was hounded by jermaine pennant of all people for the entire 1st half and looked scared. Wenger’s system doesnt work without fullbacks overlapping - fact. He could have waltzed the 3 points with Clichy in, Eboue at right back, Walcott on the or right or left who cares and Hleb behind Bendtner - Ade could have had his rest, so could flamini. Wenger has been outthought TWICE by benitez
