Or is Arsene Wenger cracking up?
He usually speaks with the wisdom of a tall French Buddha, but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is quoted in the press this morning claiming his side can still do the double:
“I still believe we will be champions in this league.
“If I didn’t believe we could win the Champions League I wouldn’t be here.”
Of course, it’s all theoretically possible, but it will require a victory at Anfield tonight and a further five league victories - something that looks a little beyond a side enduring a sticky run of form.
So what do you think? Should the footballing world take Mr Wenger’s threat seriously, or dismiss it as pre-Champions league Liverpool-baiting banter? Votes and comments below, please.

Pipe dreams. He talks like a person that can’t see beyond his nose. Deosn’t he notice that his midfield kingpins Fabregas and Flamini just dont have anything left in their tanks? While the mark of a title winning side is the form in the final third as Chelsea , United and to a certain extent, Liverpool are showing, Arsenal are experiencing their worst form for the whole season. Players they are supposed to be relying on are either falling like flies or they just can’t run anymore. Wenger’s decision to play Fab & Flam for almost the entire 90 when his oppsite number rested his generals last saturday will be his undoing tonight. He had Diaby and Song to use for some parts of the game but didn’t. Double? more like a double flopp to me.

[…] Men det har jo ikke meget med The Double at gøre. Vend din tommel op eller ned for Gunners her. […]
