Rich Liverpool striker complains about his charmed life
Andriy Voronin has taken time out of his busy schedule of buying hideous clothing to let rip about his miserable life in the north of England. The Ukrainian told a Russian newspaper:
“Compared with Germany, England is far behind in terms of comfort and culture”
According to Voronin, Germany is also a wonderful land without crime, where people leave their gingerbread houses unlocked when they go and play at the Gumdrop Lake in the Happy Forest. Not like nasty smelly horrible England:
“Five out of the seven houses near us are occupied by footballers. Steve Gerrard was burgled recently so a police patrol car comes into our compound fairly often.
“We hear police sirens all the time. Leverkusen, by contrast, was so much quieter.”
Hellbent on getting booed at his next home appearance, Andriy went on to criticise the Scouse accent:
“[Learning]English isn’t the main problem. The main thing is to learn to understand the local players like Gerrard and Carragher.
“They speak with some peculiar local accent and sometimes I have absolutely no clue what the guys are saying. Many foreign players have the same problem.”
And finally, Voronin simply cannot tolerate all the free healthcare this country is giving him:
“The medical services here are poor. When I was in Germany, there were lots of good clinics and doctors.”It is nothing like that here - when our child had a skin allergy we waited hours for the doctor to see him.
“When we finally got to see a doctor, he said he didn’t know how to treat children and to try rubbing in this ointment.
“That was it. I was stunned. As a result my wife had to go back to Odessa with him and took a full set of tests there.”
Frankly, I’m shocked. Not so much about the pony-tailed one’s pining for Germany, but the fact that a Premier League striker who earns obscene amounts doesn’t have private healthcare. Taking the frugal route and using the NHS, eh Andriy? Thanks for believing in the socialist ideal.

He’s absolutely right! There is less crime, there is a better health service - that’s why I’m very happy living over here … but wait a minute Voronin, you only went to Liverpool to fill your pockets full of British money, so if you don’t want to get rich quick, shut up and return to Germany and a more modest salary!

The Divine Ponytail has spoken…! I’m surprised…surprised he hasn’t complained about the hairdressers too! I mean, this must come as a slap in the face for all those Liverpudlians who have supported him through some really abject displays (particularly since the turn of the year). Even if he scores the winner in the Champions League semi I think he’s talked too much :) And notice his reaction when they panned to the bench as the final whistle was blown on Tuesday, not even a smile - comon Voro, it can’t be that miserable to be paid shedloads for nothing more than grooming a ponytail and prancing around like a one legged Pony! I think he may have sealed his fate this summer, and quite frankly we need players of better quality. :)

Is there so little you can write about that you have to plagiarise a really poor article from the telegraph. He says that things aren’t great and compares them to places were they are better. I’m a Liverpool supporter and have lived in Liverpool most of my life and don’t disagree with what Andriy actually said. Go and find a real story and be original for once in your life. You get 1 point for cut and paste and one more for correcting the misspelling of his name that appeared in the original trash in the telegraph. Second hand waffle anyone.

It’s not plagiarism when you give a source. And yeah ‘He says that things aren’t great and compares them to places were they are better’ - thats the whole idea! don’t really undertsand your point Larry. Or Andriy, should I say…

This article is a total fabrication. Read his statement on the LFC website. He never said anything like this… It was taken originally by Daily Mail from some russian tabloid paper. I read a few interviews by Voronin previously, and this is not what he said on previous occasions. I’m surprised after he issued his statement through the club, papers are still bothering reprinting this garbage…
