Freddie Ljungberg has always had something of the fashionista about him - as have fellow Premier League players Princess Frank, and of course, the honourable Lord David Beckham - and anyone who remembers him trooping about town in the world’s biggest woolly hat knows that he is disturbingly unselfconscious.
This weekend he unfurled the next designer look set to sweep through great football fashion circles - the Homeless Bond. The trick is simple, combine the top half of a well-maintained tuxedo with a set of vagrant’s trousers. Then finish it all off with some confusingly expensive shoes.
The aim of the look is to trick people when you’re having dinner - sitting down you look formal (like you might order the scallops, say), but when you leave the restaurant you can easily head to the nearest park for a nice glass of cider. Brilliant, the best of two worlds.
The vibe has already been embraced in America, where this clip originated.
