West London club linked to every player under the sun
According to Marca (a daily pro-Madrid sports paper), or specifically a Mr Garcia Caridad director of Radio Marca, Chelsea have offered 50 million Euros (around £40m) for Fernando Torres.
Avram Grant has already shown interest in the Spanish striker, after asking Benayoun to introduce them. The powers that be at Liverpool, however, are reportedly not interested in listening to offers.
This isn’t the first time the striker has been linked with a departure. Last month, we reported on an article in The Times that claimed Liverpool would be obliged to offload Torres and Babel if they failed to repay a £31.5m loan.
Of course, this could just be Chelsea making mischief, could just be Marca taking advantage of the various rumours flying around in silly season. But it’s also possible that Chelsea have spotted something in Liverpool’s fragile management structure that makes them think such an implausible sounding deal is possible…

This is the biggest load of rubbish ever reported !
Rick Parry rubbished this ‘Liverpool must repay £31million by whenever or sell Torres and Babel’ stating some months ago that the player transfers were financed like all transfer in football. Liverpool, like all top clubs structure the transfer fee over the lenght of the contract and borrowing is on the club, not specific players.

You are a fool Simon GF and better off not reading if you cant finish the story. The article says that Chelsea are making mischief by offering for Torres when they know he probably wont be sold but attempting to destabilise the player anyway. Didnt they do that with Gerrard as well a few years back - and didn’t he ‘nearly’ go… Answer YES
