Further proof that Italian footballers have a ‘type’

Although not quite at Iain Dowie’s level, AC Milan’s former centre-back Alessandro Costacurta is about as ‘homely’ as an Italian gentleman can get. Despite this aesthetic impediment, the 42-year-old (who only retired last year) has managed to land Martina Colombari as a wife. After graduating from the beauty pageant arena, Martina went on to pose topless like her life depended on it, and also starred in Italian show Carabinieri (‘Police officers’). This is, curiously, the exact same career path of Wednesday’s WAG of the Day Francesca Chillemi.

Martina, who has a child named Achille by her footballer husband, has since made plenty of other shows, including one named Radio Sex.
