Unlucky official in charge of biggest game of the season
The ref for Wednesday’s humdinger is going to be Lubos Michel, a Slovakian gentleman who appears to have little time for swish people from London. Oh well, at least you can find comfort in a bottle of expensive sparkling wine, Chelsea fans.
Below are five terrifying Lubos stats that surely spell curtains:
* The last two times that he has refereed Chelsea they have lost 1-0.
* He awarded Luis Garcia that goal, which sent Jose Mourinho mad - he described it as a ‘ghost goal’.
* The last three times he has refereed a Manchester United game, they have won.
* The last four times he’s officiated games involving London clubs, the London clubs have all lost.
* He has officiated thirteen European and international games since the last time a team in blue won one of his games.

I am not at all happy with this news. It just goes to prove what Avram said the other day - the refs will ALWAYS favour Man United.

Well bar from the fact the game is played at Romans backdoor, and I am sure he can manipulate the linesmen…and apparently the pitch is in such a state it will sort Chelsea ugly boot the ball football!

I’ll defer to Tracee’s knowledge of ‘ugly boots’ on the presumption that she hails from Manchester which is known for a preponderence of ugly boots.

Well, it is not far-fetched that people are screaming “Conspiracy” on top of their lungs… In my humble opinion this is a really bad decision from UEFA. Not because I am a Chelsea fan, but rather because of the potential implications of any adverse refereeing decisions. If Chelsea gets a bad call in their favour, that alters the game towards a Chelsea win, the ManUtd faithful, and Fergie in particular, will scream Michel is compensating us for the blatant mistake he did against Liverpool. If the same happens in ManUtd’s favour, the Chelsea fans will go mad and everyone will assume that UEFA indeed hates our guts (which they, in the past, has tended to express clear indications of). It’s a potential lose-lose for UEFA here and they are risking having the outcome of the game raising questions whether it was a “clean” win for either teams. Stupid risk to take in my opinion.

Uefa shoot themselves in the foot again(after the pitch yet again showing Moscow as a daft fan un-friendly venue and unsuitable for a CL final)by showing their clear hatred of Chelsea-any sensible organisation would ensure this man was kept away from all Chelsea games after cheating for the bindippers in case of further controversy. But no, Uefa show they are the worlds most inept governing body yet again and open themselves up to all sorts of recriminations should the man in the middle confirm his bias again.
