Feeling a bit sensitive because you missed out on the big tickets? Oh stop whining, man - they’ve got loads left!
United fans, if it’s not too late, and if you really love your team as much as your weeping suggests, why not head over to Moscow and cheer them on from the snowy stands? All you need to do is turn up at the Manchester United ticket office before 8pm tonight, hand over £73 and set your alarm. Don’t forget your big furry hat, a bottle of 98 per cent proof, and some bright red lipstick - three essentials that you’ll need just to get past customs.
Usefully, The Spoiler has provided five ways to get to Moscow in time for the game:
1. Leave Heathrow tomorrow at 6.40am, catch a connecting flight in Copenhagen and arrive in Russia at 2.50pm local time. You can come home on Thursday via Warsaw and be back on British soil by 9.45pm. That’ll cost you just £539.
2. Go to Manchester immediately, grab your ticket, head down to Stanstead to catch the 6.20pm flight with Easyjet to Munich, spend two hours looking at the hilarious German papers, before taking the 11.20pm flight to Moscow with Aeroflot. You’ll get back to Munich at 10.30pm on Thursday evening, and can be back in London for 11.30am Friday morning. That’ll set you back just £542, and London is famous for its Friday morning brunches. Bonus!
3. Need to fly from Manchester? You can leave Manchester at 10.30am on Wednesday morning and still make the game via Helsinki with Finnair. You’ll leave Moscow 11.45am on Thursday and be back for Neighbours and/or Deal or No Deal in the afternoon. Not cheap - £847.50.
4. If you’re one of those unfortunate people who live in the middle of the country, don’t spend the rest of your life cursing the gods and shouting at the moon, take your life into your own hands. Start by leaving Birmingham International at 10.25 tomorrow morning – you’ll get to Russia with a couple of hours to spare via Munich. You can get back via Frankfurt for 5.35pm on Thursday afternoon. That’s a bargain at £672.34.
5. Don’t fancy changing planes? You can leave Heathrow at 10.30pm tonight and leave Russia Thursday night arriving back at 9.45pm – that’ll set you back £874.60.
Check out Expedia for further details. But if you’ve got £612 spare, you no longer have an excuse.
