According to “authorised sources”, whatever that means…
It’s not like the Spanish press to get remotely carried away, so when they say that Cristiano Ronaldo is going to Real Madrid, damn it man, that is exactly what is happening!
Or, of course, not.
According to the around-the-clock journalists at Marca.com, signing the zippy Man United winger has become a burning obsession that haunts Ramon Calderon’s every moment, but now, his dream has come true. They say that an “affirmative answer” has reached Real Madrid HQ, and all they need now is for Man United to agree the move, and ta-da!
Even the beard-stroking pipe smokers who make up The Telegraph’s football desk have reported on shady goings-on in Moscow, with shadowy Real Madrid representatives meeting with Ronaldo’s people - the general feeling being that if United win tonight, the winger will go out on a high. If not, he might stay.
Of course, when questioned on the matter Sir Alex Ferguson berated the silly journalist for asking such a stupid question.
So are Real Madrid just stirring the pot? And is this really any way to woo a player?
Perhaps they should just send Don Logan from Sexy Beast and be done with it.

There have been different things said in the press today but last night after the final Ronaldo said to ITV that he will be staying. I dont think he is going anywhere

Really cant see this happening, although I take objection to any player who thinks he’s bigger than the team, and I think Ronaldo should come out with an unmistakable answer YES or NO, one that cant be manipulated by the press in any way. To not give a straight answer on the lead up to the biggest match of the season was bad enough, but it needs to get laid to rest as soon as possible.
