Meet Europe’s biggest maniacs

Face it, without MOTD to watch at the weekend, and with no one around to talk to, you WILL be watching the Eurovision Song Contest. Not least because it’s the most enthralling and weird television you will ever see in your life. Europeans are genuinely bananas.

Our slaughtered lamb takes the shape of Andy Abraham, who used to be on X Factor. He has absolutely no chance of winning - it has become fashionable on the continent to absolutely despise the Brits - he might even manage “nil points”. Good luck, Andy.

For those looking to make actual money, The Spoiler recommends the Ukraine - they have been slowly climbing up the rankings, their odds shortening by the minute. Or, for those more inclined to bet on an outsider, try the lunatics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who have produced a Dadaist impression of the 21st Century. Genuinely disturbing.

As for the French, they’ve gone for this stroke of genius:

Since I left Bosnia in 1992 and even though I still have family there I never felt much for that country. This year Laka (the Bosnian author/performer) has brought somenthing wacky, genuinly inocent and at the same time exciting, and for the first time I’d love Bosnia to win. Ocasionally, I’ve followed the media in the former Yugoslav republics and many people there like him and the song. There are quite a few Bosnians all over Europe so expect lots of their votes too. Definately one to watch. C’mon Lakaaaaaaa!!!!!!! :-)

Eurovision has become soooooooooooooo boring. The music is vile, totally spun sugar, and the acts are all either androgynous or trying to pretend they’re eccentric & weird when they are just carbon copies of one another, each successive act looking fainter & fainter & more booooorrrrriiinnnnnggggg.
