Ljungberg lets it all out, finally
Well, we’ve all been waiting for this day. It’s taken a while to come out, but Freddie Ljungberg has finally broken down in tears and lifted the lid on how horrible it was playing for Arsenal, and how Arsene Wenger was really mean to him, and how it sometimes makes him so sad to think of poor Thierry Henry - out there in Barcelona, orphaned and crying himself to sleep on the cold streets. Alone. In danger.
Granted, some of that might be exaggerated a little bit, but the message is loud and clear - Dr Wenger isn’t the kindly old gent everyone thinks he is.
“Wenger simply doesn’t like those who show a weakness,” sobbed Ljungberg to the Daily Express, “with him you generally feel as if you are in the army. It is only in public that he may appear to be some sort of man of liberal views.”
Yes, he is definitely over-egging the pudding with the “liberal views” bit - after all, was it not Wenger who allowed him to have a shockingly bad pink haircut for well over a year? Yes it was.
But still, he didn’t even give poor little Freddie enough time to recover from a horrendous injury before replacing him with a younger, much better player. What a bastard!

Ha ha ha Ha… very tongue in cheek. Freddie was already past his sell by date and I think was a year longer at the club then he should have been allowed to remain. Sorry Freddie, we loved you to bits, but your time was up.

Well I disagree with the Henry situation, he was desperate to hit Barcelona. His mind was there all the time in his last season. So there is no meanie there but Freddie well that is true. I dont know why the hell Wenger has no strict policy and does not keep his gems like Man United do (Giggs scored the winning penalty in UCL, Scholes got the only goal in the semi-final). I have said in the past that players would not want insecurity when they are reaching 28+. It is stupid to load them off. Experience counts Mr.Wenger!!

Freddie should thank Wenger for helping him get a great deal at West Ham as a parting gift. Thierry and Veira all went left with good deals not just to Arsenal but also the players themselves given that they are into their 30s or so.

A year longer try 3 mate, he should never has been give a contract extention, was past it for 3yrs.
