Is the Man United boss on a hiding to nowhere?
You’ve got to admire Sir Alex Ferguson - when the gloves come off, he’s got “hate” and “hate” carved into his knuckles, and he’ll punch you repeatedly in the face until it finally caves in, and he’s left howling at the moon like a bloodthirsty maniac, or a dog. We are, of course, speaking metaphorically. But you never know.
What we do know, however, is that when it comes to Cristiano Ronaldo, he’s more defensive than a secret bulimic. Real Madrid have been rattling his cage for weeks now, fueling talk of it being the winger’s dream move to light up the same Spanish flank that played home to great players like Figo, Beckham, McManaman… and others.
Ramon Calderon sparked the Ferguson inferno to such an extent that he started throwing “slavery” and “Franco” into the ring, alluding to a questionable regime controlling Real Madrid, whilst the honorable likes of Barcelona and Man United attempted to play business fairly. But, now, controversial voices - mainly from a gent named Sandro Rosell - from the respectable Catalan club have started hysterically barking about the imminent arrival of Ronaldo into their ranks.
Ferguson has sent a loud and clear message to the player - “the boy has four years left on his contract” - demanding that he stays, even if it means rotting in the reserves. And who would doubt Ferguson? When it comes to sentimentality, he has no trouble turning mean - just ask Stam, Beckham, Van Nistelrooy, Ince… even Keane.
And yet, all the while, Ronaldo has stayed totally silent. Surely, were he desperate to stay, he would have emerged from his corner long ago to reassure the fans and the manager. But, instead, he has teased and loitered on the subject. A hunch suggests that his Man United career could be over.
After all, how can he top this season? Perhaps by moving to a club he’s always dreamt of playing for and winning some silverware with them?

Ronaldo actually hasn’t remained silent he has said three times that he will stay and that he is happy in Manchester and that it is a dream to play for Madrid but that dreams don’t always come true, please look at the facts and the evidence which has actually come from his mouth rather than the quotes attributed to him by Marca

Nice read though not what i was expecting. With rumours flying all over the place from different sources its hard to make sense of what is really going on.
Odd indeed that Sir Alex is not so happy to let his player go when he wants. Maybe Ronaldo will come out and give us his opinion… maybe.
“great players like Figo, Beckham, McManaman… and others.”
forces a giggle

The boy wants to go. I think he has paid his due at united. Whilst united are in a position of strength they should sell him. Depending on what you read he has been offered £300,000 a week after tax. Thats a 5 year £75 million deal. I dont blame him.

who in there right mind would want to go to a 2nd rate outfit in spain, its not really even a civilised society. a few extra pounds wouldnt be an inducement to have to live in spain

‘Not really even a civilised society’? And is this from a man who we may believe lives in Australia?!
I fail to understand how the La Liga champions are second rate. Even Ronaldo’s mummy wants him to go there!

Ronaldo will stay.

Exactly why “he” would want to play in/for an inferior league/team at this moment in time is what confuses me/him.
You little scamps should just continue whipping up your media storm!

He doesnt want to play for or in Real Madrid/La Liga at this moment in time. He wants to play with the best players and league in the world. In the future he will.
Make sense?

OP and Ronald Cristian, if you want boring football news go to a different website. Or filter for yourself what you read. The beauty of this blog is it’s irreverence.

Thats one way of putting it Dusty
Ronald what you say is not sensual, not that i didn’t understand in. Your opinion is your opinion I respect that but the point you make isn’t great. Real Madrid boast some of the best players in the world still. Ofcourse as a Man Utd fan? you will probably believe your players arebetter than any other teams. As do you call you Manc fans

boring country, boring league, boring people. Real Madrid will never be a match for Man Utd and Spanish players have never won anything.

Exactly Sydney_rob
Dusty, Tramp and Simmer - at no point did I become offensive. Your diatribe is typical of a person who can’t listen to an opinion that differs to your own without being offensive.
You have forced me to respond in kind to your pathetically feeble comments as below.
Tramp, you just can’t put any opinion clearly so be quiet.
Dusty, go back to watching Big Brother you inbred loser.
Simmer, you don’t understand because you can’t, as you do not have the depth of knowledge. Real Madrid do indeed have some great players, but they are not the TEAM Utd have. The Spanish league is poor as proven by the national teams utter failure to do anything in any major tournament.
Clear enough now?

hmmm Spain won euro cup funny I thought they can’t win in any major tournament. Plus England sucks cock. When’s the last ttime they fucking did anything? Couldn’t qualify for euro and haven’t won a world cup since 19fuckin66! Your players are shit compared to what Spain did in euro cup. Ur lucky I like sir bobby charlton because HE actually played football like a true player and he’s a nice gentleman but as for the lot today, forget it.
