The Spoiler considers the top flight’s finest in Austria/ Switzerland
Although England fans will not get a chance to make fools of themselves on the streets of Vienna, the best league in the world is very well represented at the European Championships. With this in mind, The Spoiler has whittled down the top flight’s best imports to form some kind of monolith XI of continental talent. And Petr, you may have more arms than a Vishnu God, but you’re on the bench for this one…
Jens Lehmann
Forget the increasingly gaffe-prone Petr Cech, Lehmann is the guy to watch. He won’t be a Premier League player next season but he has a point to prove and could well lift the trophy.
Patrice Evra
Ridiculously, he still isn’t a regular in the French team, but a lack of Premier League left-back’s potentially up for selection in this XI means he creeps in ahead of Alvaro Arbeloa.
William Gallas
When he’s not sulking, Gallas is actually a pretty good defender and France will be relying on him being back to his best if they are to challenge.
Ricardo Carvalho
John Terry’s better half will be keen to show he can perform just as well without the blubbering wreck by his side.
Jose Bosingwa
Chelsea snuck in ahead of Man United to sign the right-back and will be keen to see what he can do.
Luka Modric
He’s the guy who is going to win Tottenham the title next season, in case you hadn’t heard.
Michael Ballack
The master of consistency, Ballack has got in the team of the tournament at the last two World Cups and Euro 2004, even though Germany went out early.
Cesc Fabregas
Showed Spain his credentials in the Premier League this season by starting the campaign on fire only to die out when the expectation mounted towards the end.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Just about merits a place based on this season’s performances.
Fernando Torres
Another shock inclusion.
Nicolas Anelka
Yes, the striker who this week claimed he doesn’t care about scoring goals makes the team, for his quote-ability in post-match interviews, if nothing else.

How you left out Croatia/Portsmouth midfielder Nico Kranjcar I don’t know - Fabregas hasn’t shone this season, particularly towards the end, whereas Kranjcar has performed consistently for Portsmouth, and has been their best player by far! He’s one to watch definately.

I second the Krajar thing - sort it out! To be fair though, he only scored with Croatia against a VERY shitty team to get through to the tournament. Who were they again?

Nico Kranjcar has been outstanding all season and helped Portsmouth win the FA cup! + he has scored some bloody cracking goals check out the one against birmingham. p.s. please try and translate your comment in to an English most people can understand!

I would pick Vedran Corluka for the CB spot over Gallas. Gallas isn’t at top form right now. Corluka was the lone bright spot at the end of ManCity’s season this year

To Hahaha
Thank you for your very ‘constructive’ comments. Yes, I am, as you say a ‘fu**in pompey f*k’ and the reason I’m nominating Kranjcar is because he’s actually a half decent player believe it or not. Now I know you Arsenal fans can’t see very much beyond the tip of your noses, but even you will agree that Kranjcar has been one of the premiership’s most consistent performers - just pick up any newspaper commenting on Croatia in Euro 2008 and guaranteed they will highlight Kranjcar and his amazing season. Fabregas is a good player, but just because he’s scored more goals than Kranjcar doesn’t make him any better a player. I suggest you crawl back into whatever hole it is you came from, and invest in a spell checker. Someone who can’t even spell the most basic of words surely can’t know that much about football? 10 of those 11 players play for top three - but I think Kranjcar will easily get in the Premiership team of the season.
