Farfán and Eto’o snub North Londoners
Spurs could be starting the season with an inferiority complex, as Peruvian Jefferson Farfán has become the latest player to shun a move to White Hart Lane. The striker confirmed that he received an offer from Tottenham, but yesterday chose to leave PSV for Schalke instead.
This news comes on top of a recent failure to lure Ronaldinho (and let’s be honest, Spurs fans should hope it stays that way) and Samuel Eto’o’s comments dismissing the club: “Tottenham, and I hope the English fans will forgive me, are a club in mid-table and I need more,” the Barcelona man told CRTV.
The rumour vine tells us that Anton Ferdinand is having a medical at Spurs today - but will he sign on the dotted line or continue the Ramos snubbing?
UPDATE: Arsenal’s new signing Carlos Vela is now getting involved in the art of Spurs fan goading. On the arrival of fellow countryman Giovani Dos Santos at White hart Lane, he said:
“I hope things go well for him at Tottenham, that he gets the minutes he wasn’t given at Barcelona and that he shows what he can do.
“He is a very good player and let’s hope he can then move on to a better team.”
Have at it, folks.

i work at spurs so i know that you are making the story about ferdinand up. If you are going to have a site at least write something worthwile rather than just copying what is on newsnow. a bid was never made for farfan or ronaldinho!
3 PAUL T // Jun 10, 2008 at 9:40 am
also the headline is a bit misleading considering we have signed dos santos and modric with an even bigger name to sign by the weekend that will really make you look stupid!

Hope we dont get Jar Jar Ferdernand.

Because we don’t just want ANYone to play for us. That’s WHY.
8 Ian C // Jun 10, 2008 at 9:47 am
‘Why won’t anyone come and play for Tottenham?’: WTF?!?!?!?!?
We’ve already signed 3 players: Modric, Bostock and Dos Santos. I don’t think any other Prem team has that many yet?
We are renowned for putting in a hopeful bid or two. You don’t ask; you don’t get!
Also, you have to remember that we’re building a team; obviously Eto’o can only play in a team where it’s all pre-built.
What is it with players these days, they get so up themselves that feel everything but Champs League is below them. I’d rather not have these people who aren’t willing to put the work in at my club.

what a stupid article if robbo had a played for any top team last year they would be in the middle of the table and justto take as an example the last five games in witch our defence was changed in every game while utds just one vidic through injury and we had to play a 21 year old kaboul in is fist season with a goaly that conceded at every free kick every corner and from 30 yards plus any team would suffer when we had king and his experiance the team was different. Look at utd without ferdinand and vidic and vander sar playing shite what would utd be like like not very good i bet we finished with 66 goals with a keeper in bad form from the start of the season robbo complained in the world cup that he dident like the ball and he showed us why all season he couldent keep hold of it whos the spoiler robbo

champ kind. funny guy. I just wrote out a long reply to your question but thought better of it and deleted it.there are very few leaks to the press since kelmsly left and staff can be fired for leaking what they do know to the press. that is why it makes me laugh when mickey mouse web sites make up stories linking us with players especially when i know it is bollox. enjoy the coming season fellow yids!

me thinks that the signings are going to happen…. a lot of enquiries made however thats all they are!
every team gets rejected at some point by some player or another…
we managed to get berbs instead of united, we got gazza instead of united, we got bostock instead of chelsea, the list could go on…..
ive noticed that the spoiler seems very anti-spurs?

28 Champ Kind // Jun 10, 2008 at 10:12 am
PaulT, the fact that you can get fired for leaking this info doesn’t explain why you are doing it! It makes it seem like a bad idea!
What more can you tell us about your colleague Kemsley, or ‘Kelmsly’ as you refer to him? Why were there so many leaks to the press during his reign?
29 James Sturiienko // Jun 10, 2008 at 10:15 am
Ok, Paul T. You may well work at Spurs, you may well be correct in the assumption that Capel is signing but I promise everyone on this page, you didn’t that information from anyone inside the club. I have a very close family relation who has been extraordinarily good friends with Clive Allen and a host of other players from their QPR days. Clive Allen continually promises everyone who asks about the club that HE knows nothing about any future transfer dealings. If one of our most important members of staff doesn’t know diddly squat about the goings on in the transfer market, I very much doubt you do. I am pretty sure Mr Allen would not mind me mentioning his name on here, I have pictures of me sitting on his knee while he is dressed up in a santa suit from back in 1985 when I was 6 years old, after all, I have just confirmed that Levy’s policy of secrecy is working!!!!! What do you do at the lane? Work the pie stand?
30 PAUL T // Jun 10, 2008 at 10:15 am
vic. have worked there for the past 5 years and left my job last week. I am not interested in trying to prove who i am. someone asked who we were signing so i told them. Take it with a pinch of salt if you like. Its no skin off my nose.
31 PAUL T // Jun 10, 2008 at 10:20 am
yawn. why would clive be involved in first team signings. he manages the reserves. he has no say in who signs players. There are lots of people less important than clive at the club who would know about such things. do you really think levy is in charge of booking flights , sending faxes, or organising comollis transport when speaking to and identifying players.

37 Abe // Jun 10, 2008 at 10:36 am
Not the best headline especially with Modric and dos Santos having signed. Looking at the likes of West Ham, newcastle, Blackburn etc they would be over the moon with these players. Sometimes an agent makes an approach and the player thinks the club wants to buy him. Remember Ramos in Jan said he turned down 9 players.
38 Gav // Jun 10, 2008 at 10:44 am
I have heard stories linking us with capel from a couple of spurs sites that i am registered to. I knew they were in for him but didnt realise just how advanced they were.
Rob, you know little about football if you dont think capel is a big name . He has the potential to be truly world class.
Paul t, as soon as you think you are doing people a favour by passing on information they will jump down your throat either calling you a liar or demanding more info. I had never thought about the people around the club who organise transport etc, i suppose they would be privy to certain player deals. do you know of any other players we are in for or who have knovked us back.

Was this article written by Wenger’s mum?
“Jefferson Farfán has become the latest player to shun a move to White Hart Lane. The striker confirmed that he received an offer from Tottenham, but yesterday chose to leave PSV for Schalke instead.”
What this means is Spurs probably inquired about the price only to be put off by the fee. The player then mentions our name after moving to the giant club Schalke (lol) to court favor with his new teams fans. Good for him and even better for us!
Bale, Hutton, Gunter, Modric, Bostock, Dos Santos…….and more to come.
Quite frankly despite the fact this story is a pile of shite I’d love players like this to keep rejecting us!

ok Paul, Clive Allen is a first team coach and a youth development leader. He is good friends with Poyet and I imagine since he was pretty much the only member of staff that Ramos retained. I think he would probably have some clue as to who we were signing. I wouldn’t say anything personally, it would not be right but he has given people I know extremely accurate information long before anything appeared in any of the media. Levy and John Alexander are extra tight lipped with regard to transfers, they tell no-one at the club until the time comes for paperwork to be administered. And as a matter of fact, I do know who books Levy’s hotels and Flights, they don’t work for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club
46 Sean // Jun 10, 2008 at 12:17 pm
Well…yeah…like Modric, Dos Santos and Bostock, already this year. Exclusive, i can reveal that Spurs find it so difficult to attract players that in some games last year they finsihed with 3 players on the field (cue cheap and petty GoonerScum jokes).
Obviously, like, ‘cos’ like Manure suffer form the same problem, as Aaron Ramsey has snubbed them…indeed i can reveal that Ronaldo has informed Slur Alex that he is jumping ship ‘cos if the current trend continues it will only be him and a reserve goal left at a wind blasted Old Trafford!
Shut up!

OK JAMES, so nobody in the club apart from levy ramos and commoli knows who we will sign. nobody else in the club is involved and these 3 carry out everything to do with transfers from start to finish. there arent any other scouts, secretays accountants, financial advisors, admin etc that are involved. i dont doubt you know clive and i couldnt give a monkeys if you do but you are very small minded if you think cos clive doesnt know , or he hasnt told you, nobody else is in the loop. There were plenty of people on spurscommunity who knew about the dos santos signing weeks before the papers got hold of the stoey. I guess clive must have been in on that one and let them know.

I know of a few players they are talking to but i am a spurs fan also and wouldnt want to jepordise any deals. Ben has already taken information on here and passed it on as his own info on ftl, so i am wary about saying to much. I only gave capels name cos it is a done deal.
62 Crewie // Jun 11, 2008 at 9:12 am
Dear me - a poor, inaccurate article designed merely to try and wind up Spurs fans.
1) 3 players already HAVE signed for Spurs, including 2 ‘big’ names.
2) You have NO evidence that bids were even made for the players you state - you are just recycling rubbish fron the tabloids.
Why bother to write anything if this is the best you can do?

68 Avram Magic // Jun 11, 2008 at 10:06 am
How many times have all you ‘Modric is world class’ proclaimers actually seen him play? Are you diehard followers of the Croatian league or basing it all on his performance against England?
A Macedonian player called Artim Sakiri had a class game against England so West Brom signed him and he flopped. Hey, at least they didn’t blow £17 million though.
He didn’t look world class against Austria. I’m going to stick my neck out and say he’ll prove more Rebrov than Berbatov.
69 Juande Ramos // Jun 11, 2008 at 4:05 pm
Hey Avram, wind the neck in, I hear David Evans is available, never heard of him, he is a member at Eversleigh, tipped for England.
