Here’s where we think teams will finish in 2008/09, based on their signings so far

As the only big four club to sign a truly big name, Chelsea take the lead in The Spoiler’s inaugural transfer prediction league.
Tottenham climb ahead of Liverpool after moving quickly to make three big signings, and reports that Lukas Podolski could be on his way help strengthen their position. It’s vital they keep hold of Robbie Keane though who is being linked with a move to Liverpool.
Rafa Benitez has signed Philipp Degen and Andrea Dossena but Liverpool still look unable to attract or afford world class players (with the exception of Torres), as shown by the fact Gareth Barry is their main target.
A lot of the mid-table sides have suffered from slow starts to the summer - we list Man City missing out on Ronaldinho as a negative, but that could yet prove positive. Fulham are the biggest movers besides Tottenham thanks to some shrewd early business while at the bottom the new clubs are showing no signs of wanting to survive, while Sunderland look poised to splurge more millions on average Championship players.
We’ll update the transfer prediciton league next week. Disagree with any of this week’s predictions? Let us know with a comment below.
