Who’s better for Barry - Liverpool or Arsenal?

The Spoiler

Man forced to choose between rock and hard place…

barry.jpg

What a zany world we live in. A couple of years ago, if anyone had predicted that Gareth Barry would be the most sought after player in the Premier League, you would have smiled politely, finished your foie gras, made your excuses and sprinted home, terrified of what they might do/say next. Damn maniac.

Yet, that is exactly what has happened, and now Gareth Barry - former England understudy to Jason Wilcox - is the subject of a North/South war, as Liverpool and Arsenal go toe-to-toe for his affections. So who will it be, Barry? The kindly folk of Liverpool? Or the crimson meanies from North London?

In favour of Liverpool is that Barry and Gerrard are great pals, who used to share a bed together (assuming that’s what “rooming” means), and clicked in an England shirt. But they’ve already got Mascherano.

Meanwhile, over at Arsenal, Wenger is in the process of losing Gilberto, and with Flamini already gone, he’ll be after a tough guy with great hair to boss the midfield, allowing Fabregas to scuttle around like a show pony.

But where do you think he should go? Cast your votes, the people. Cast your votes.

How about the several clearly negative (or were they attempts at humour?) Arsenal comments.

Unfortunately it’s now ruined. Looking on the brighter side, it paid for my house and a rather nice convertible.

She will walk again, she just needs to be patient.

I have to say, i absolutely despise websites that write articles in such an un-educated manor. I can’t believe i have just wasted 2 minutes of my life reading this dross. Who ever wrote this needs to just throw in the towel…please!

What a poor article. Something of a northern bias to say the least. Now, the question of which would be best for Barry and possibly England is where he could hone his ability and take it to the next level without having to learn a new language. Arsenal is therefore the obvious choice. The whole squad speaks English whereas only some of the foreign contingent at Liverpool do, for the rest he will need a course in scouse ehhhhmmmm… spare me. Please…some decent articles or don’t bother

    Rubbish article, great comments!!

Does the moniker “The Spoiler” refer to the role this website plays in the enjoyment of my daily football news gathering?

I think I’ve figured out what’s going on here, Gareth Barry, sitting at home bored and unable to train has decided to invent loads of usernames to stop the besmirching of his name.

You people need to chill out what the hell is wrong with this article?

Whatever you’re taking son - you need to see the doctor to adjust your medication

  • 18 Bill // Jul 15, 2008 at 2:09 pm

    Simon

You talk about him having to learn a new language at Liverpool, well for your information all the Liverpool players speak or are learning English unlike the frogs at Arsenhole and as for your southern friend Cesc’ed’s information cars no longer come with hubcaps and even if they did they would be more likely to be purloined in London, the crime statistics there are twice that of Merseyside.

Fellow gunners, what is really going on here? if Barry wants to come to Arsenal, he is welcome but not more than 12 million, He is good but not for 18, we can buy better players for that amount, and if Wenger is ready to pay that amount for Barry, he rather buy Micah Richards who is better imo for defence, Song can do a great job there, Denilson and Diaby as well, and don’t forget Ramsey, the sky is the limit for the GUNNERS.

babel was a Gooner last pre-season. Don’t be so sure and/or bitter RedMen!

  • 23 paul // Jul 16, 2008 at 3:41 am

Arsenal and Arsene Wenger would never spend £18 Million Pounds on a 27 year old player let alone a 27 year old English player and that is coming from an Arsenal fan IMO
