Humble Blues gaffer implies Robinho will be joining a lesser club

Luiz Felipe Scolari

Luiz Felipe Scolari had already played down the idea that he is a ‘Special One’, and in a press conference yesterday, he delivered a hard truth an opinion that will have made Chelsea’s PR team drop their clipboards, bluetooth headsets and double orange mocha frappuccinos in shock:

“Robinho is a great player, a very good player who plays in the best team in the world, Real Madrid. One of the best teams in the world. And also in the national team of Brazil. But we will see.”

Nice recovery, Phil. Who were the other best teams you were thinking of? Barcelona? Manchester Utd?

Barca, ManU . . . in your dreams . . . question for ManU fans . . . are you dropping out the FA Cup again this year seeing you’re involved in the World Club Championships?

what a pathetic attempt at journalism, pop back to uni and have a few more drugs

Sorry Rob, But do you really think Chelsea are on the same level as Madrid? Barca? Man Utd? Liverpool? Ac Milian?
No, you not. Face it. Your a ponsy version of Jack Walker’s Blackburn. Once Abramovich leaves. Which he will do eventually. You’ll be back to mid-table obscurity.

honest abe - thanks for your insight and original thought - “once Abramovich leaves…”. It’s the first time I’ve heard that in the five years he’s been with us.

I love how awkward Deco looks in that picture. he’s clearly embarrassed by the Jewish dance Scolari is performing behind him.

It’s true though Norman. Chelsea are not a BIG club. You have no history of success. No where near the number of fans these other clubs have. You need Abramovich. Look at your wage bill. You won’t be able to afford it without him subsidizing. You’ll also struggle to attract players without the lure of big wages.

I hate to come across as a fanboy or something. I seriously think Scolari will do wonders for your club. A four nill win will no doubt breed confidence in an already established team of stars.

but when it comes to being a big club? that you certainly are not.

ps. hopefully with scolari as manager… when you play liverpool in the champions league, it wont be another shit on a stick match.

honest abe - I know, “once Ambramovich leaves…” is profoundly true and right up there with “money can’t buy success”, followed by “you bought the title”; “you have no world class players”, followed by “your manager is crap, anyone can win the title with two world class players for every position”……. spot the trend there? Any thought as to what might be behind it?

  • 9 honest abe // Jul 25, 2008 at 5:38 pm

The trend there is that Chelsea percieve others to be jealous of them. And to some extent it might be true. But what have they actually done in there history to deserve the money they have?

But the fact remains, once Ambramovich leaves, Chelsea will be in a lot of trouble.

    and just for the record, Chelsea do have some world class players;
    -Cech
    -Shevchenko
    -Joe Cole
    -Carvalho
    -Ballack

honest abe, people like you give the internet a bad name.

chelsea were not a mid-table team pre-abramovich. - why don’t you go and have a look at the premiere league stats.

separately, alex ferguson says chelsea are a big club and, with all due respect, i think he knows a bit more than someone trotting out the same anti-chelsea cliches. ‘if abramovich left..” blah blah -… if my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle.

try engaging your brain instead of repeating something you overheard in the playground.

Chelsea are ranked No. 1 in the Champions League. They are the team every other team are afraid of. They are hated because they are the best. And long may that hate continue. People don’t hate Man U as much as they used to, they feel sorry for ‘Pool & Arsenal. Why? Because Chelsea have the grit & determination the others lack.
