It’s a brave man who crosses the invisible line that divides Arsenal and Spurs, and yet David Bentley is on the verge of doing exactly that. His journey took a detour via Norwich and Blackburn, but even so, he should be in for a choppy ride.
Maniacs like Sol Campbell, Pat Jennings, and, um, Rohan Ricketts have already dared to confuse Seven Sisters and Highbury, and - with the exception of Campbell and Jennings - no one has ever heard from them again.
Can Spurs fans honestly find it in their hearts to forgive Bentley, and take him to their bosoms? Or is this just another impressive show of arrogance on his part?

This story is a joke. Bentley coming to a bigger club going places. Moving closer to home, friends and family, earning more money, more likely to be picked for England being at a London club. Big tip for you think about it before you make up such a crap story.

ok player, bad attitude - he should have shown a bit more patience and waited for Pires & Bergkamp to stand aside. He might have gone onto bigger things at Arsenal but now hes going on to smaller things.

A rubbish article.
In order to get 1st team football, Bentley effectively left Arsenal four years ago; since when he’s developed into a very notable young player and England’s most likely candidate for right midfield.
He’s effectively a clean slate now, rightly or wrongly he was never given much a chance by Wenger anyway - 10 appearances - possibly because he would have been that rarest of things in a Wenger side, an Englishmen, a thing not so rare at WHL!

I can’t really see a problem him playing for Spurs having played for Arsenal.
The bit that I cannot fathom out is that he wanted to leave Blackburn to play for a big club in the Champions League….
….and signs for lowly Spurs!! (the same team that lost to Rovers in the League Cup a few seasons back).
Not impressed with the lad’s attitude to be fair and his game seemed to wane toward the end of last season. Not good enough to clean Beckhams boots imho.
Probably be back on loan at Norwich next season.

Nayim in 2 - 3 years time an Englishman would be rare at spurs. Have you not noticed the sudden influx of foreigners going to the spurs team? Lets face it Spurs have got no chance of making it into the top 6 with so many English players.
By the way Bentley is all mouth very little action. I will be surprise if spurs (youth killers) improve on their 11th place from last year.
