Martin O’Neill has revealed that if Gareth Barry is still an Aston Villa player on Wednesday then he could feature in their UEFA Cup qualifier against Icelandic side FH. actually you’re incorrect. As of this year if you’ve played in the UEFA cup then you’re still eligible to play in the Champions League. UEFA changed these rules to help those players who move without being cup-tied across all European competitions. So Barry CAN play in the UEFA cup and then again in the Champions League should Liverpool or Arsenal sign him up.
