I think the reason why Chinese people(in China) don’t find it too offensive is that they’re not exposed to racism like Asians living in other countries do. I think most Asians abroad would find this very offensive because most of us have experienced the slant-eyed taunt at least once in our lifetime.

To me, this wouldn’t be a big deal if the Spanish had apologized over their ignorance, but instead, they seem to be proud of their ignorance.

The Spanish are ignorant fools. We in the UK and US are evolved and aware. But then again, you probably think monkey chants are no big deal. Since they HAPPEN EVERY BLOODY WEEKEND IN SPAIN.

I’m a Chinese bloke living the in the UK and I find it offensive and puerile. I think it demonstrates a woeful lack of tact.

Although I must say it is getting somewhat tedious now. Seems like everyone’s going through old copies of newspapers trying to find similar photos. I’m bored now. The point has been made, so can we please move onto fresh news?

All this nonsense by the angloamerican media about the alleged racist gesture is going simply beyond the pale. An English calling a Spanish a racist? come on, you must be joking. The angloamericans are obsessed by their own sense of guilt. They are the ones who did not allow Chinese and dogs into their racist clubs and the ones who have illtreated for centuries other races of the world. As to the gesture, the Chinese Embassy in Spain issued a formal statement saying that in China it is not considered offensive at all…so the anglo maniacs should shut up and look home
