Even more deadline day movers and shakers…
While a certain stroppy Bulgarian decides which side of Manchester to play for, there’s plenty of action going down elsewhere….
George McCartney to Sunderland
West Ham’s best outfield player last season George McCartney is reportedly having a medical with former club Sunderland. If the move is completed it will mean the Hammers continuing to play captain Lucas Neill out of position or having winger Luis Boa Morte fill the void. It is also a clear indication that every player at the club has a price, so Hammers fans with Green or Ashton on the back of their replica shirts may have cause for concern.
Saha and Nash to Everton
Louis Saha has finally completed his transfer to Everton for an undisclosed fee after an unsurprisingly lengthy medical. More surprising is the news that Wigan goalkeeper Carlo Nash is expected to arrive as back-up for Tim Howard.
Henrik Larsson staying put
Everton, West Ham and Tottenham target Henrik Larsson has quashed rumours of a move to the Premier League. The 36-year-old said: “I will not go anywhere. It has never been my intention (to leave).”
