Manchester Utd gaffer believes the refs are against him
Earlier this year, Sir Alex Ferguson (attempting his best ‘Blue Steel‘ in the picture above) tore into Professional Game Match Officials Board head honcho Keith Hackett over his side’s loss to Portsmouth in the FA Cup. This morning the red-faced United boss has vented more fury in light of John Terry’s rescinded red card:
“I understand Hackett told ref Mark Halsey to rescind the card and he wouldn’t. So now he Is refereeing in League Two this weekend.
“I do not understand how this has happened. If it had been a Manchester United player, Hackett would not have done this.”
Do referees favour Chelsea, the club that absolutely no one in the game has any empathy for? Would Manchester Utd get treated any differently (particularly as the red card decision was highly dubious)? Or is Fergie simply revealing a gigantic chip on his shoulder? Let us know what you think with a comment below.

Normal SAF psychology trying to put the ref for this weekends match under pressure. It’s clever and normally works for him. Shame the tabloids are so scared of him that they don’t deride him for it in the same way they did if Mourinho did same thing

What a pathetic old man, pity to spoil his great reputation by not thinking before he opens his big mouth.
Give up the booze Fergy and get right back on the path of reality.
Lets remember you as a great coach and not a pathetic old whiner.

I know it’s unprofessional for Ferguson to make these comments but I think he has a point. After all the FA increased Jeremie Aliadiere’s ban when he appealed last season - back then Boro chief exec Keith Lamb pointed out the Chelsea bias.
I don’t agree with Ferguson though - I think if United made a similar appeal they would be successful, I think any of the Big Four would.
I think there are three reasons an exception has been made: it’s a Big Four club appealing, their next game is against Man United and he’s the England captain.
It’s definitely fishy that the ref has been demoted to a League Two game. Fair enough drop him down a division but dropping him down three is humiliating!

I really do not care - I am a Pompey fan and we beat them….and went on to lift the FA Cup. He is just a sore loser and it makes me laugh. His players always get ’special treatment’ when the come to Fratton Park - rough with the smooth Alex, rough with the smooth.
