This man divides opinion…
The big talk over at the Daily Mail this week is that 5 Live’s Alan Green is quite breathtakingly babyish, and he can’t even travel on the same flight as Mark Saggers to tonight’s Belarus game, because things have become so frosty between the pair. One or two well-placed friends of The Spoiler have also alluded to a somewhat self-important, prickly nature.
He’s also a man who has ruffled a few feathers over the years, notably Sir Alex Ferguson’s and Joe Royle’s - Royle said this of him to the Manchester Evening News:
“If Alan Green threw himself a birthday party and invited all his friends, he could hold it in a telephone box and still have room for gatecrashers.”

Alan Green is insufferable. The biggest tosser on national radio. His commentary makes me want to put a baseball bat through the radio. Irritating over-opinionated and his phone-ins, cringing. The sad dross that is 606 also shows he has no knowledge of anything outside the Premier League. To think the licence fee goes on this bloated buffoon. Deck him, Saggers.

Green is a total prat. Thinks the world revolves around him. I, I, I, I…… what a dickhead, no wonder his colleagues don’t like him. He’ll say “I don’t care” but he should, because one of them may soon be in a position to sack him. He’ll say “I can’t be sacked” and hopefully at that point he’ll be lamped…

Alan is apparently largely responsible for the lack of Alex Fergusons droning hypocritical whining on the BBC. Therefore godlike genius whatever else he has done!
