Dear Editor,
I’m not sure if the writer of the story about Beckham going to live near a “red light district”
has ever visited Viale Abruzzi in Milan, Italy.
I live in New York City but, for the past 20 years, I have had an apartment in Viale Abruzzi, near the popular and elegant Bar Basso. In all of these years I’ve never observed a “red light district,” because they don’t exist, at least not in the center of Milan, where Viale Abruzzi is located. The Viale is a wide, bright and long avenue divided by centennial trees. The area has many elegant shops and one could find everything in a 200-meter radius. It is well served by metro and bus services. Because it is not too far from the Central Station, at times, we get some spill-over of young ladies walking along the avenue, but only in the vicinity of Piazza Loreto (where Mussolini was hanged upside down).
The Viale Abruzzi area is a residential area bustling with children. Apartments there are in the high-end of the real estate spectrum. The area is also a favorite among Italian journalists, TV personalities and, as pointed out, Italian and British football stars.

Sincerely,
Dom Serafini, Editor

Oh dear what will he get up to next. I've read in another place that he's buying an expensive jet plane so that he can nip home to LA in the evenings. As long as Brand Beckham continues to get it's daily mention I don't think that he will be concerned.
