Roma/ Chelsea, 7.45pm, ITV4, Free £10 bet
By announcing his the fact that he has made reservations for Chelsea’s Champions League final hotel, Luiz Felipe Scolari has left himself open to ridicule should the Blues flop tonight. Roma can’t afford to play for the draw like they did a fortnight ago because anything but a home win will see them fall at least three points behind CFR Cluj, should they beat Bordeaux. Here’s why chickendinner believe Roma’s woes will continue and Scolari’s confidence will be justified:
1. Chelsea’s last Champions League trip to Italy came exactly five years ago to the day, when they beat Lazio 4-0 in the Stadio Olimpico, the same ground they compete in tonight.
2. The Blues are unbeaten in their seven away games this season, winning six and conceding just one goal. This is a continuation of their away form that was the best in the Premier League last season, recording seven more away points than Manchester United.
3. Roma haven’t fared well with English opposition recently. In their last five meetings with Manchester United they only managed to take one point from a possible fifteen.
4. The Italian side have lost eight of their twelve league and European games this season, including each of their last five.
5. Their last home league game ended in a 4-0 thrashing from AC Milan while their last home European game ended in a 2-1 loss to CFR Cluj.

Just another reason why, as i have previously stated NUMEROUS times, you can’t rely on stat’s, statistics are nothing more than a record of past games.
After the first mission to the moon failed, did everyone go “It can’t be done, look they tried once and it failed so it will always fail!” ? No, they tried again and succeeded.
History is nothing, life for today.

You are no student of history Mr NUMEROUS times. It generally does repeat itself but the fact that it might point you in a certain direction doesnt mean you have to go there. Knowledge is key, not ignorance.
