Tottenham’s keeper goes from bad to really, really bad
Gomes, in happier times, when he could catch two balls at once. Now he can’t even catch one
Another game, another howler by Spurs’ calamitous Brazilian. This time, at Fulham, Gomes fumbled the ball into his own net, a rookie error that arguably robbed Tottenham of at least a point.
What’s happened to Gomes? At PSV he looked like one of the best keepers in the world, stopping shots for fun. But the Premier League has exposed him as a clumsy, reckless, butter-fingered charlatan, with a nasty habit of injuring his own defenders. He is still capable of pulling off the odd stunning save, but if he can’t get the basics right, Harry Redknapp must put him on eBay.
Spurs fans never thought they’d miss Paul Robinson this much. Heurelho, congrats: you are officially shit, aaaaaaaah.

I’m in the minority that think he will come good - he was Spurs best player in their first few games but his first error (against Villa, I think) started a chain (when the rest of the team were playing crap and giving him a lot of work to do it must be said) and while Redknapp picked up the confidence of the rest of the team, Gomes’ still looks shattered. I’m absolutely certain he will have the game of his life against us in three weeks though!
I also thought that, far from Spurs getting a result without Gomes, he actually kept the score down with a number of good saves, although of course that doesn’t pardon his earlier mistake. Part of me also hopes Gomes comes good again over the next few months to keep Spurs away from England’s number (seventy-)six come January.

First months at PSV , gomes was clumsy, laughed at, you name it. But after a few months he grew and grew and played 3 years 34 games a year with only about 16 balls that have dropped in the net behind him in each year (LESS THEN AT SPURS IN LIKE 10 GAMES) . He also made a cruicial error in an away game in france in CL , think it was olympique, but at the home game he saved 4 and we won. Remember the matches between Spurs and PSV? IT will come, just a very social guy having troubles to adapt i think, and that all is showing up in the games now.
I think Spurs should be ashamed with the all the players they have they do so crappy.. thats not gomes his fault, he just doesnt really help the situation i agree on that.
He is used by his broker and he setup Gomes against PSV to try to get the CEO out , because the broker was in dispute with CEO at PSV (mr. reker). Gomes stated: Reker gone or i am gone.
And i think this all worked on gomes his performance now as well (guilt)
IF he didnt screw up this bad at PSV when he left, i am 150% sure, Spurs had a bid on the table as i speak
