Real can’t have Cristiano Ronaldo, will poach Tevez instead

Spanish rag Marca claims Carlos Tevez has already agreed to leave Old Trafford and join Real Madrid for the 2009/10 season.

With just one league goal to his name this campaign, and not many more league starts than that, Tevez has been a peripheral figure this season. It seems that Alex Ferguson just doesn’t fancy Carlito, a stance which confuses the majority of Man Yoo fans - most United fans we know think Tevez should be in the starting XI much more often.

Of course, Marca makes countless claims about big names who are definitely off to the Bernabeu, only for nothing to happen, but this rumour is credible, at least - United do seem reluctant to buy out Tevez’s contract from the MSI agency, and while Ferguson has denied he wants to offload the Argentine, with Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov established as his favoured forwards, there’s a decent chance that Tevez will follow in the footsteps of Gabriel Heinze.

Should Fergie let Tevez go?

Fergie should not let Tevez go. There is nothing wrong with competition, in fact it should be encouraged. If Tevez is disheartened by the competition then it would be disappointing and not something I would have expected from a professional like Tevez.

I don’t know what fans you’ve been talking to but Carlos Tevez is shite! He’s a total chemistry killer when he’s on the pitch. He would rather kick wildly in the general direction of the goal than pass out to a teammate with a better view. Ugh, not that I want anyone to go to Real Madrid but if one them is going, I would much rather it be Tevez!!

United fans should have been careful what they wished for: moaning all summer about how they needed Berbatov but now feeling sad that Tevez is benched - can’t have it both ways! I’d have Tevez over Rooney any day though. More consistent when playing regularly, more controlled in his passion and scores more important goals.

Of course he went over six months without scoring for West Ham but that was forgotten by outsiders because he was the “one-man team” who” single-handedly kept us up” and who despite leaving therefore must have been the reason we came tenth the next season.

Living in Spain (and having watched Real Madrid’s loss ro Real Valladolid 2 weeks ago), they are really suffering from a lack of firepower.

However, I wouldn’t take much of what Marca says as credible. Whilst it’s not as bad as the drunk scottsman (Fergie) claims, It’s probably no more reliable than a five year old spouting off a list of famous footballers who he would like to see at his club.

Arshavin, Torres, Fabregas, Benzim, C-Ron, Tevez, Adebayor, Shevchenko to name a few have all been mentioned in the last few weeks.
