Brazilian accused of calling team “losers”

The Sun were guilty of yet more outrageous paraphrasing this morning, running with the headline “You’re losers”, implying Robinho said this about his Manchester City team.
Of course, he never said anything of the sort, but did point out what most of us already know: Real Madrid and the English big four have won more titles than a team that has finished no higher than eighth in the Premier League:
“City have good players but the mentality of a small side. What they lack is the mentality of champions.
“Here they have a good team but are content with just finishing fifth or sixth. For me you can only be content when you’re champions, with winning away.
“You need to want to beat Chelsea at their home, beat Manchester United, beat Liverpool.
“They are content with little, just a draw might be good enough.”
At this point, you can see why the papers have spun the Brazilian’s words with a derogatory edge, but it becomes clearthat he is not calling his side “losers” and is actually trying to encourage his team mates to succeed…
“The mentality has to change now City have a project to become big.
“I want to inspire a winning mentality. I’ve learned being second is worthless. I played at Santos, where the supporters want to win every tournament we play in. The same was true at Real Madrid and with Brazil.”
Yes, Robinho may be highlighting Manchester City’s current lack of championship-winning mentality, but his message seems to be positive, suggesting the club can transform it’s fortunes, but must start by transforming its outlook.
Either that, or he is starting to feel that he should have signed the other blue contract that was waved at him on transfer deadline day…

The Manchester City Squad are not stupid enough to fall for such a lie, Robinho is our Capitan & he will be letting everyone know exactly what he said if they do not already know & if they are honest to themselves they will realise Robinho speaks logic & truth.
The only 4 players that actually play out of their skin like Champions are Robinho, Ireland, SWP & Hart.

George, if you were playing with pain killing injections in your ankle, perhaps you too would have stepped away from a 50/50 or two.
In fact Robinho was not fit to play, and i think it was a stupid mistake to risk our only star player.

George… I very much doubt you are a blue, what you are saying is simply rubbish.
I bet you are either a Chelsea fan or a Rags fan.
