Hammers’ new shirt deal likely to upset star
Last night, West Ham announced a new shirt sponsorship deal with SBOBET.com, said to be worth around £2m for 18 months. The good news for Hammers fans is that the club will happily exchange the current shirt for the updated one free of charge.
The news probably won’t go down so well with Matthew Etherington - donning the logo of a betting company probably isn’t the most healthy option for a recovering gambling addict.

I believe it’s called irony. Has that not reached the East End yet?

Irony.. Sure..
.. I think it’s a spastic article tbh.
I think everyone’s a bit sick of Etherington to be honest. I regularly see him out drinking, he turns in shit performances regularly.
Funnily enough he’s not even made the bench in recent weeks despite being Zola’s golden boy when we first adopted 4-3-3. I think the club are probably sick of him too. He’s had his chances.
Sell him in January, another club can pay off his debt.

Insensitive? Were Liverpool or Everton also insensitive to their players who had a drink problem? I agree with Tony although I have to add that West Ham is a well run club despite some journalists with a limited outlook on life and intellect to match. The fact is that Etherington is a coward both on and off the pitch and West Ham should sell him in January!
