Manchester Utd winger wins FIFA World Player of the Year

Absolutely no one was surprised to see Cristiano Ronaldo pick up the FIFA World Player of the Year in Switzerland last night (except Fernando Torres, who looks like he wants to poke his own eyes out).

According to our Madrid-based compadres at Off The Post, the tricky winger used the post-awards interviews to stir the transfer shit storm that has been brewing since last summer.

When interviewed by a Spanish TV station, the young Portuguese spoke the mother tongue of Real Madrid fluently. When complimented on impressive Español skills, he replied “Thanks, I’ve been learning.”
