Barca star reminisces about good ol’ Blighty
In an interview with the latest edition of gentleman’s periodical Loaded (out today, with a nekkid Danielle Lloyd on the cover) lovable Frenchman Thierry Henry was asked what he misses most about England. One may expect him to say he missed the Arsenal fans who adored him, the pace and excitement of the Premier League, or perhaps playing in front of crowds who aren’t partial to a spot of overt racism. Turns out the only things he misses is our fatty cuisine:
“I used to love scones with my tea. I love English scones. I love cheesecake, too. I wasn’t so much of a fan of fish and chips, that’s for sure, but I miss my tea, my scones and banoffee pie. I really love desserts.”
If he ever wishes to rekindle his love of classic English sweets (like, er, cheesecake and banoffee pie) then there’s a certain French professor who will always welcome him back with open arms.
Elsewhere in the interview, Henry said the player he most admires at present is handsy AC Milan star Clarence Seedorf, and that fashionista Gerard Pique is the biggest practical joker in the Barcelona team.
