Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool secure important wins
Portsmouth 0/ Chelsea 1
Pompey threatened to ruin Guus Hiddink’s quest for Premier League glory, but in the end a brilliant Didier Drogba strike set the teams apart. After the game, Paul Hart was officially named Portsmouth manager for the rest of the campaign, with Brian Kidd as an assistant.
Liverpool 2/ Sunderland 0
Like Chelsea, Liverpool are now just four points and two games in hand away from the leaders. Rafa’s impressive recovery record continued last night, but a genuine Premier League title challenge looks about as likely as a Rafa Benitez aerobic workout DVD hitting the shelves.
West Brom 1/ Arsenal 3
Look everyone, Arsenal scored some goals! Two of them were scored by Nicklas Bendtner! If they manage this again when they’re not playing the worst team in the league, we’ll be impressed.

How did his ‘recovery record’ continue? There was nothing to recover from. It was a straight 2-0 win. Sheesh.

Recovery from defeat, Mish. Prior to last night, Liverpool had recovered from their last four Premier League defeats to win their next game. It’s explained in the link.
