redmist, you mean when they weren't able to challenge you (i'm assuming you're one of man u, liverpool or arsenal)? good on them i say. it's still a work in progress. their fans just need to calm down a bit with their overreactions to every single post on the web. leave that to the spurs fans as it's their only pastime.

City fans - do you really want this? To be like Chelsea... Fred Goodwin... and other successful folk hated for their ambition and greed. You used to be such a good club

i never said you could snub an offer that has not been made. i said that we simply don't know whether man city and valencia agreed on anything (as the agent says) before villa released his statement. so someone could talk about either side of the coin: 'snub' or 'no snub' depending on how deep they think the negotiations went before villa spoke. but since we don't know neither side is conclusive.

so it's a bit rich of you to discount avon barksdale's opinion. you said "Avon Barksdale, you have obviously involved in the attempts to sign him by City? Perhaps you are the president of Valencia? Whatever it may be I bow to your superior knowledge. Noon second thoughts I don’t think so." and then in reply to me said "A price was mentioned and City walked away. No deal was or is agreed." Maybe you are the president of valencia then with this inside information.

and i know it was talked about in Dec 08 but it has resurfaced again in march after valencia's poor season and debts. the agent was talking to el mundo deportivo now in march which means new negotiations took place. so since the details are sketchy and we don't know for sure how far the negotiations went then i'm as right in speculating 'snub' as are you in speculating 'no snub'. unless of course you ARE the president of valencia and know more than the rest of us and the media.

Raph88. The key is that the clubs met and discussed a possible move. A price was mentioned and City walked away. No deal was or is agreed. This is old news from Dec 08 really means Valencia are raising interest in Villa and Silva to try and get some money in. However you and Avon Barksdale amongst others seem to think you can snub an offer that has not been made agreed or ever existed. Therefore I have today snubbed a move to Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter and AC Milan. Just as meaningless. Get it?

the key is: "I do not know what kind of contacts or talks Valencia have had with Manchester City, or if there has been any agreement yet."

which means that if Villa released his statement after Man City and Valencia agreed on a transfer, then it's a snub. there's no way of knowing that (as the agent says) so someone could be entitled to either opinion, 'snub' or 'no snub'.

but considering the immense pulling power and persuasion the man city board have had recently i'd have to go with 'snub'.

Avon Barksdale, you have obviously involved in the attempts to sign him by City? Perhaps you are the president of Valencia? Whatever it may be I bow to your superior knowledge. Noon second thoughts I don't think so. You can not snub an offer if no offer has been made. Simple. Of course if you can not understand that basic and quite simple fact you should seek immediate employment as a journalist. Judging by the reporting on show in this story you have a long career in fron of you.

It doesn't matter if a formal offer was made. City have repeatedly tried to sign him and he has said no - hence, 'snub'

Avon Barksdale, can you explain how someone can snub an offer that has not been made? When someone actually turns down a move (KAKA) then fine it can be called a 'snub'. But if you bother to read the reports 'no offer was made'. Hardly hilarious unless of course your very very sad.

Ah but reporting the truth wouldn't allow the word 'snub' to be used in the headline.

Never let mere facts get in the way of a good chance to bash MCFC eh?

As the last contact between Man.City and Valencia regarding the transfer of Villa took place in December 2008, do you think you could try and get a more up-to-date story to report?

Do keep up!
