Brazilian could inherit the hallowed squad number

Kaka number 5

While the British press are preoccupied with the Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid transfer saga, our Spanish friends seem to believe Los Blancos have eyes for only one man: Kaka.

According to the front page of Marca, the Brazilian has already been promised the number five shirt by likely Madrid president Florentino Perez. The squad number should be available, as Fabio Cannavaro is likely to depart in the summer.

Before Cannavaro, Madrid’s number five was worn by Zinedine Zidane. Therefore, if Kaka arrives in the summer, he will be the third consecutive Ballon D’or and FIFA World Player of the Year winner to wear the number.

Kaka is coming to the premier league. Why go and play second fiddle to barca for the rest of his career when he can join the EPL at a top club and regularly reach the last 4 in the champions league?

seems pretty simple a choice to me.

    EPL? *vomit*

I don’t actually think he’d do that well in the Premier League. His game is about intelligent running with the ball, and since you get very little time and space to do that in the English game I don’t think it would be the best move for him. Which team would he join anyway? Arsenal and Liverpool couldn’t afford him and he’s already said no to Chelsea. So Man U then? I don’t see it.
