Sebastian Langkamp bags accidental 46 metre screamer

Currently rock bottom of the Bundesliga, Karlsruher FC haven’t had too much luck this season. Things changed on Saturday, however, when they secured a 1-0 victory at Bayer Leverkusen, thanks to this bizarre strike.

Defender Sebastian Langkamp told Bild that he was “trying to clear the ball into the stand”, but he ended up putting the ball away from 46 metres.

The Spoiler remembers a very similar goal to this one happening many years ago in the Premier League, possibly at White Hart Lane. If you can prove that we are not imagining things and can better describe the incident, please do so below…

    it was an own goal from the halfway line i think - cundy - was that his name?? he went in for a slide tackle and ended up punting a massive lob over his own gk.

    Warren Barton scored a similar goal for Wimbledon in the 92/93 season, as did jason cundy, for spurs against Ipswich…

    Yeah, it was Jason Cundy for Spurs against Ipswich at Portman Road on 30/08/92.

    Thanks chaps, it was indeed the Jason Cundy goal we were thinking of.

    Can’t seem to find any evidence of it on YouTube though…
