Managerial transfer saga takes yet another twist
Comments in this morning’s Daily Telegraph suggest Carlo Ancelotti will snub Chelsea’s advances, instead choosing to stay in Milan next season:
“I am AC Milan’s manger and I will be doing this job for some time. The time has not yet come for me to be replaced at Milan - it’s easier to win in Europe with Milan than with other clubs so I am staying here.”
However, quotes in Italian newspaper La Repubblica from Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi suggest that Ancelotti’s position at the Rossoneri isn’t as secure as he would have hoped. AC Milan have had a relatively successful season, but their failure to catch up with leaders Internazionale has angered the former Prime Minister:
“We have got the tactics wrong many times. If we have lost the Scudetto then it is Ancelotti’s fault.
“We have players who are excellent on the ball and great at passing. We should have worked on this. Also, we have conceded many times towards the end of matches.”
Such a lack of support from the Milan owner surely will not sit well with Ancelotti, who is said to have met with Chelsea officials last night.
