Manchester Utd chief exec sets a steep price for star player
If Real Madrid are to land long-term transfer target Cristiano Ronaldo, they will have to break the world transfer record for a second time this month, according to Marca.
Today’s edition of the Spanish paper says Los Blancos have already had contact with Manchester Utd chief executive David Gill, who set the price for the Portuguese star at a whopping €96m.
Gill, Marca understands, is said to be completely unwilling to lower this price, despite the negotiation attempts of Madrid president Florentino Perez.
Barcelona-based paper AS corroborate the story, but they believe the transfer figure to be a paltry €89m. Apparently, this will be paid in bite-sized instalments, and the deal will go through before July 30th, so as to avoid the €30m compensation clause set out in Ronaldo’s pre-contract agreement with disgraced former president Ramon Calderon.
As also say that C-Ron’s shit-stirring agent Jorge Mendes will make a killing from the deal, taking home a commission in the region of €8.7m.

man utd are a joke. people claim amdrid are causing inflation in tranfer fees when it’s really the clubs selling when they demand rediculas prices like this. All by all means Madrid will probably pay it so as not to get the penalty fee. Caldron is an idiot for sorting the pre-contract agreement. Who the hell is worth that much money? no one is and ever should be.

Joker, you’re right. No one is worth 100 million, so instead of blaming Man Utd for inflating the price, blame the retards like Madrid who will see the value of a play in that range (twice in a month for that matter).
Man City and Madrid are killing football and the market, not the clubs that were smart enough to sign star players at such a young age for a fraction of the price.
This is the only time I’ll give credit to American sports for actually going through with contracts. In this sport, they mean nothing but an inflated price tag, because no one ever sees one out.

Joker - Man Utd are a joke - hahaha, I hope you see the irony of that, with Joker as your sign in name.
Madrid ILLEGALLY made the pre contract with Ronaldo, behind United’s back, so yes they deserve to pay the 30 million PENALTY clause
90 million Euros is crazy money, but Real Madrid will make most of that back within no time, because they take 50% of all players commercial dealings, which in Ronaldo’s case is a MINT of money. They will also make a mint from excessive tv rights, when Kaka & Ronaldo are in their team. Real Madrid unlike top teams in PL negotiate their own TV package, so get multi millions more than any other teams. So live with it eh mate? In todays market, they are getting away cheaply.
