Striker wants to join Ferdinand and Berbatov on £110,000-a-week

Carlos Tevez sat on the bench during the Champions League final

The Sun have taken a day off from desperately trying to find links between Sir David Richards, Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim, Thaksin Shinawatra and Portsmouth to focus on Carlos Tevez’s future.

They claim that the “greedy” striker has demanded a £15,000-a-week pay rise so that his wages match those of Dimitar Berbatov - the striker he outscored last season despite starting less games.

The Spoiler doesn’t think the demands are too outrageous. After all, when Tevez agreed his initial wages in 2007, it was after a season at West Ham where he didn’t score until March and he had yet to play in the Champions League.

Two years and 34 goals later, he has proven himself and it makes sense to ask for equality with Berbatov, as that way he finds out whether the club rate him as highly before agreeing to sign. If they don’t then he knows that Manchester City and Chelsea (probably) will give him the money he feels he deserves.

However, there are lots of Manchester United fans who want shot of Tevez, so if you disagree with our outlook let us know with a comment below.

Tevez should earn roughly around 9,500 a week for running around like a headless chicken and scoring the ocassional goal

In the EPL Tevez scored half the goals of Berba and has 1/4 of the assists that Berba did. There is no question that Berba is much better than Tevez. Berba not only scores, but creates a lot of goals and is a great link between midfield, wingers and strikers - when utilized properly. The reason that ManU lost to Barca was exactly that Berba did not start. There are 10 strikers out there, much better than Tevez that ManU can sign for less money - Benzema is one of these. Tevez is ungrateful and spoiled and should go to City - this is the club that suits him. ManU can do much better for the price.

To the Man Utd fan calling Carlos Tevez “ungrateful” - why should he be grateful?

It’s not like you did him the favour - he chose your club when there was a lot of interest two years ago. He then had a great first season only to then be made a bench-warmer when Berbatov arrived.

Gill had all year to sort out signing him and Tevez kept telling everybody he wanted to stay but it’s only now that Ronaldo has gone that the club have bothered to try keeping him. It’s no wonder he’s fed up.

Man U fan’s are so arrogant that they don’t even see when they have made a mess of things. Tevez wants out and has said he goodbye. Now he is negotiating with Man U just to help his negotiations with other teams. It’s called business. He gave everything on the pitch and to the fans and Man U made a mess of his situation. He’s decided to leave, and said goodbye and now is taking care of business. Get over yourself Man U fans - and talk to your owner if you have a real problem with it.

I can’t wait for Tevez to leave. Headless chicken. No vision. No skills. Lots of ego. We need people who put the team first. The article is a poor attempt to manipulate the readers. Tevez scored far less goals and play the same ammount of minutes.
